This origami boat was made using a sheet entirely covered with graphite. The lead pencil, formerly made of the latter, still called as such but made of graphite today, contributes to the meaning of this work and gives it a weight opposed to the lightness of origami. The meaning and weight of the words call for reflection. Will the certain “steadiness” of this folding allow it to stay afloat ?
Ce bateau origami a été réalisé à l’aide d’une feuille entièrement recouverte de graphite. La mine de plomb, anciennement constituée de ce dernier, toujours dénommée comme telle mais faite de graphite aujourd’hui, participe à la signification de ce travail et lui confère un poids opposé à la légèreté des origamis. Le sens et le poids des mots appellent à la réflexion. «L’aplomb» certain de ce pliage lui permettra-t-il de rester à flot ?
